PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN MADU DENGAN LAMA PERENDAMAN BERBEDA TERHADAP MASKULINISASI IKAN NILA (Oreochromis niloticus)
Abstract
Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) has beeb cultivated successfully, but problems because gonad maturity is too fast causing unwanted reproduction, so male monosex culture is more profitable, fish grow uniformly, reach large sizes, do not reproduce wildly and reduce sexual behavior . The purpose of this study was to determine the survival and masculinization of tilapia (O. niloticus) by different immersion times using honey. This study used an experimental method using a Completely Randomized Design, with four treatments and three replications: treatment A (control), B (15ml/liter honey for 12 hours), C (15ml/liter honey for 14 hours), and D (15m/liter honey for 16 hours). The results showed that the effect of soaking time using different honey had a significant effect on the masculinization and survival of tilapia. The highest maleization rate was obtained in treatment D = 90%, C = 88%, B = 57% and A (control) = 27%. Then the highest survival rate resulted in treatment B = 47%, C = 43%, A (control) = 37% and D = 33%
