Abstract
Crayfish (Panulirus spp.) is a type of Indonesian marine fishery resource with great potential and has been caught by fishermen in coral reef areas for a long time. The research method used is experiment. The analysis used is descriptive qualitative and quantitative. Research on the selectivity of basic gillnet capture fisheries that catch crayfish in the waters of Salemo Island, Pangkep Regency, can be concluded, among others: 1) The frequency distribution of crayfish catches is more dominantly caught on basic gillnet fishing gear which has a larger mesh size (5 inches) than the mesh size the smaller (4 inches) in the waters of Salemo Island, Pangkep Regency; 2) The relationship between the length and weight of the crayfish catch on the mesh size of the basic gillnet is more and heavier in the 5 inch mesh size than the 4 inch in the waters of Salemo Island, Pangkep Regency and 3) Selectivity of gillnet fishing gear The basis used for catching crayfish using 2 (two) types of mesh sizes has almost the same level of selectivity in the waters of Salemo Island, Pangkep Regency. While the size of the crayfish caught was still more dominant in size <10 cm.
